Synapse, RNA transport, Cytoskeleton, hiPSC-neurons
Research Description
Understanding the molecular basis of how neuronal synapses in the brain change during development and in response to synaptic activity, focusing on the synaptic transport of RNAs. Also employ human iPSC-derived neurons to study disease-related mutations on synaptic function

Research Description
Jixing Li is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Linguistics and Translation at City University of Hong Kong. She earned her PhD in Linguistics from Cornell University in 2019 and completed her postdoctoral training at NYU Abu Dhabi’s Neuroscience of Language Lab. Her interdisciplinary research leverages computational modeling to investigate how the human brain comprehends language, bridging linguistics, psychology, cognitive neuroscience, and natural language processing. Her work has been published in Nature Computational Science, eLife, Journal of Neuroscience, Imaging Neuroscience, Scientific Data etc. and top NLP conferences ACL, NAACL, and EMNLP.

Brain Mapping, Map Plasticity, Psychiatry Disorders, Neural Implant, Neuro-nanomaterials
Research Description
We study the mechanistic understanding of sensorimotor processing and the cellular mechanisms of learning and memory using modern techniques such as in vivo multichannel recording, two-photon imaging, in vivo whole-cell recording, and various behavioral tasks. This research will ultimately be applied to alleviate various brain diseases.
